Executive Secretary National Universities Commission Receives Presidential Aide on Youth, Students Affairs

ADVOCATES  MENTORING FOR STUDENTS
The Executive Secretary, National Universities commission (NUC), Prof Julius A. Okojie, OON, has advocated for the robust mentoring programme for the youth and students to avoid youth restiveness and other social vices, especially within the Nigerian University System (NUS). He said this on Monday 4 April, 2016, when he received the Special Assistant to the president on Youth and Students Affairs, Mallam Nasir Sa'id Adhama, on a courtesy call, in his office. The Executive Secretary remarked that the commission was determined to ensure that the NUS functioned better and to consolidate on its own achievements as the regulator of the system. He acknowledged  the role of the office of the Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Students Affairs in getting students of Nigerian Universities actively engaged, through seminars , workshops and conferences, which specifically address their needs, stressing that restless youths are a hudge challenge to the NUS.
