Neymar open to ‘dream’ PSG move – agent

Brazilian superstar Neymar could join Paris Saint Germain, if the French giants pay his huge 193 million euros ($220 million) get out clause, his agent said Monday. The post Neymar open to ‘dream’ PSG move – agent

Italy coach Antonio Conte was named as Chelsea’s new manager on Monday after the reigning Premier League champions announced he had signed a three-year contract that will start following Euro 2016. “I am happy we have made the announcement now so everything is clear and we can end the speculation,” said Conte, first tipped as Read More The post Conte becomes Chelsea manager on three-year deal.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Alex Iwobi's decision to play for Nigeria and not England is a loss to the Three Lions of England. 19 year old Iwobi has scored in his last two games for Arsenal and in their last match against Watford scored a goals and assisted another, leaving bigger players like Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell on the bench.

England persuaded Iwobi and his family to play for them after evaluating his talent and enormous potential but the attacker, who is also nephew to Austin Jay Jay Okocha opted to play for the country of his birth- Nigeria.

“Is he a loss for England? Yes,” Wenger said.
“We have values in our club that are maybe not rated always, but one of them is to give a chance to young people and educate them. “Every year we bring players out and not many can say that. I’m happy Alex is one of them.”

Wenger concedes that Iwobi's rapid development has been surprising to witness, but says the forward who made his competitive debut for Nigeria during the lastinternational break has been working on his skills all season long.

"The fans have seen many good players over the years and they know straight away when a player has something special, so they acknowledge that," Wenger told Arsenal Player.

"You cannot cheat people. They've seen how quickly Alex's improved and how well he's played.
"It's surprising how quickly he's integrated into our game. He's worked with us since the start of the season and he has grown, gained confidence and when he came in he had an impact straight away.

"That's benefited from the fact that he knows everybody and they trust him as well. I didn't expect that level of efficiency or impact on the scoresheet."

CBT: Nigerians in Diaspora throw weight behind JAMB

As mixed reactions continue to trail the adoption of Computer Based Test (CBT) by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the Nigerians in Diaspora Monitoring Group (NDMG) has thrown its weight behind the board, saying it has aligned the nation’s tertiary entrance examination with global best practice. A statement issued by the NDMG Publicity Secretary in the United Kingdom, Engr. David Onmeje, said resistance to the use of CBT by some persons should be expected but that this does not in any way diminish the benefits of adopting the system. According to Onmeje, the criticisms of the flaws identified in this year’s examination are not enough grounds for JAMB to discontinue using CBT but should rather be treated as areas of improvement in future examinations. The statement noted that “All innovations have early adopters and persistent opponents but advancement always have to happen in the interest of mankind. Even countries with the more advanced technologies still have citizens that kick against innovative concept and express preference for older systems but societies that are determined to progress do not allow objections to hold them back. “We urge Nigerians to support the CBT. JAMB Registrar, Professor Dibu Ojerinde should be commended instead of the ingratitude that criticism over the system’s teething problems amounted to.” NDMG, however, asked Professor Ojerinde to unveil plans for correcting identified flaws to Nigerians to further boost confidence in the examination body. “We believe JAMB can leverage on its successful innovations in other aspects of tertiary entrance examination to convince Nigerians that CBT is the way to since the changes it had introduced in the past are now fully accepted despite the initial opposition to them. “Online registration, unification of all entrance examinations and e-result and other innovations of JAMB are now very popular with the population even though they earlier faced similar resistance. “But for us in Nigerians in Diaspora Monitoring Group, these are things we see in other climes regularly and we are proud that Nigeria too is getting up to speed with the application of technology to vital institutions,” the statement added.

Nigeria company develops an e-learning App that enables Students pass their JSCE, SSCE, JAMB exams with flying colours

This innovative App is used offline. No need for expensive internet connection Finally, a solution to the massive failure inJSCEWAEC, SSCE, NECO & JAMB exams is here! Over the year, abysmal performances have been recorded in our SSCE and JAMB examinations.

Within the last 10 years, the rate of failure in SSCE exams has been between 60%-70%, with many failing to obtain credit pass in Mathematics and English Language. This is not encouraging, especially for parents that have made huge investment and sacrifice to provide for their education. The reason for this massive failure is not farfetched. Students have abandoned the reading culture of “burning the mid-night oil”. They are now seriously distracted by TV, and their smart phones.  It is very difficult to get them read their physical books. They rather prefer to play with their phones.

So, having an application that enables them to read on their mobile devices is not only timely, but will also help to improve their performance in JSCE, SSCE & JAMB exams
HOW THE SECONDARY SCHOOL E-LEARNING APPLICATION WORKS

The secondary school E-learning application comes in a preloaded 8G memory card which is installed on mobile devices, computers, e-libraries. The student who installs it then registers as its user. To start using the application, he opens it to watch video lectures. For this, the student just sits down and observes a real classroom atmosphere teaching on his mobile device. This does not need the internet to operate, so it does not place any extra financial burden upon the student. As the teachings go on, the student has total control of his time and learning speed, a powerful tool which he has no control of in the classroom, for fear of looking dumb, by asking his teacher to repeat or slow down to enable him understand a new concept.
He can pause the lecture when he wants. If he is sent on an errand, he can stop the lecture and won’t miss anything. He can repeat a line of instruction if he so wishes. He can pick the subjects he finds most difficult in classroom and repeat the video tutorials as many times as he wants. The power of this approach is that the student no longer sees teaching and learning as one boring classroom exercise, but an exciting educational game which absolute control he has.
